What’s the difference between the two mask strap?
There are two types of SCUBA mask straps. To keep it simple we refer to them as full replacement or thread through. Mask straps are also referred to as mask tamers, slap straps or mask tamers.
Our mask straps are made from high quality neoprene and are embroidered. We create custom made, personalised mask tamers or slap straps which you can personalise with your name or phrase.

What can be embroidered?
Our SCUBA mask tamers are embroidered and not printed. Embroidery makes the images pop out and last much longer than printed images. We can embroider most things but remember when choosing your own designs that an incredibly detailed image will not embroider perfectly. Due to the fact that the mask straps are made from neoprene and not a flat cloth, the edges of the designs get gobbled up slightly.
How big can the fonts and letters be?
The fear of long words is called Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. Guess what, your mask strap is afraid of long words too, so keep it short. The smaller the typeface the less clear it will be. So keep in mind how much text you need on the mask tamers.
Why are you more expensive than the mask strap in the dive shop?
Everything about our SCUBA mask straps and tamers, BCD straps and dive themed caps are made by us. The designs, the embroidery, the stitching of the two neoprene pieces with binding as well as sewing the velcro for the full replacement versions. They are made with love by us who are avid scuba divers and tested to make sure you will be happy with them. So with that in mind you get a custom made, personalised, really cool SCUBA mask strap that is just as unique as you!
Dispatch: Whilst we try and get our products out as quickly as possible, it can take up to three weeks for us to send your items. Your personalised SCUBA products are custom made and therefore we need this time to get them out of the door and on your dive gear.
